Fishing

We took the kids to the local fishing pond last weekend. They didn't catch anything, but the boys LOVED casting their lines and reeling them in.

Aubree thinks she's SO big and I think she's SO cute.

Last day of Kindergarten

Sam's done with Kindergarten and I can't believe how fast this school year went. He had a wonderful teacher and has learned a lot even though his class was enormous. He's reading really well and is starting to tell time! We got to tag along for field day at the park and he got to do all sorts of fun things the last couple weeks. Great job Sam!

Sam's first 5K

On Memorial day Sam and I ran a 5K. It was Sam's first race and he did a great job! At the beginning he was determined he was going to win the whole race. We started good and he ran the first mile. Then he started to say things like "I wish we could drive the van the rest of the way" and "I wish we were only running a one mile race". I tried to distract him by having him spell and do math, which worked for a little while. The last mile he decided he would run in the sun and walk in the shade, which was hard for me because we were running along a tree-lined street so he would start and stop and start and stop. But, he finished strong and got to play on a playground afterward with friends, so I think he had a good time.

Joy School Graduation

Ben graduated from Joy School! We decided to let the kids play at the park for his graduation since there were only two of them. They loved it and it was wonderfully low-key during a very busy week. Good job Ben! Next year: preschool.

Cat Diorama

Sam's last Kindergarten homework assignment was to put together a cat habitat as a diorama. He learned some interesting facts about cats, like "they live in houses" and "they lick their fur". He was really proud of his work and worked hard on it. Here's the pictures:

Hair!!!

Aubree's hair is growing! I can pull it into one of those cute little ponytails!! I think it's adorable!!!
